Our Top Priorities for Endorsements: College Presidents, Military Leaders
1) Connections: Think about who you are connected to- at school, in past work/internship experiences, or in outside organizations, such as boy scouts, a religious youth group, or a nonprofit organization.
2) Choose a person that you have access to as your target for the endorsement
3) Get your target person’s attention. Working with other people always helps, so the target person sees that this issue has a broad base of support. Plan a phone or in-person meeting with your target or send information via email.
4) Follow up until you have a Yes or No answer from your target. If you get a Yes, send them the sample endorsement letter, and ask them to send their endorsement letter to the address below. If you get a No, find out why, and do your best to address their concerns (check out Arguments Against the Academy- And How to Respond). Contact Chris if you have further questions at asch@uspublicserviceacademy.org.
