1. Call your Representative or Senator’s district office nearest to your home.  Let them know that you are a constituent and a Youth Advisory Council member for the US Public Service Academy, and that you are calling to arrange a meeting to discuss the Academy with your Rep. or Senator.  Ask for the name and email address of the person in charge of your Rep.’s or Senator’s scheduling for when they’re in town.
  2. Send a short email including: your address, number of people you expect to be at the meeting (the more, the merrier), and your availability in terms of dates, times, and office location, and a 1-2 sentence explanation of the purpose of the meeting.
  3. After the initial email, follow up a few days later to ensure they got the email and are working you into your Rep.’s or Senator’s schedule.  Continue following up with emails and/or phone calls until you have a meeting with your Rep. or Senator or a with the district office director/manager.
