Follow these steps, and get your friends and family to join in, too. The more callers, the merrier!

1) Call the DC Office and ask for the Legislative Assistant who deals with education-related issues. Tell him/her that you are a constituent on the U.S. Public Service Academy Youth Advisory Council. Your Representative supported the legislation to create the U.S. Public Service Academy in the 110th Congress, and you want their support in the 111th. Ask if you can count on your Rep. to co-sponsor the legislation- HR 2102- again. Ask for a contact email and name for follow up.

2) Follow up with an immediate email including your name, address, and the bill number (HR 2102). Remind them that the Rep. supported the legislation in the past term, and tell them you will follow up in one week to hear your Rep’s response. Mark the follow-up date on your calendar.

3) One week later call the office, and ask to speak with the same person. Remind them that you spoke to and emailed them a week ago and would like to know whether they’ve heard back from your Rep. Email to follow up after the call (as in step 2).

4) Repeat the above step once a week until you get an answer!
